CREATOR. MOTIVATOR. BAD-ASS COLLABORATOR. ELIZABETH PRIYA KUMAR.

Hey guys, it’s me, Priya. It’s about damn time we’ve met! Grab a cup of coffee, get comfy on the couch, and let’s get to know each other a little bit better.

My mission in life has always been to shatter the illusion of cookie-cutter anything. As a first generation Indian American woman, there was always a certain set of expectations for what I should become and how I should behave. But as I grew up, so did my hunger to achieve. It wasn’t long before I vowed to become the CEO that my parents always wanted me to marry! Since then, I have developed several companies, all of which are interconnected to create an empire that has completely redefined the luxury event planning market.

13 years ago, baby 26 year old Priya was looking to find her start in the event planning industry. It felt important to me to work for a company that not only honored culture, but looked to the future in ways that flipped South Asian traditions upside down to create trendsetting experiences. Luxury weddings for the modern couple. And what did I do when a company like that didn’t exist? I made it myself. Premini Events was formed out of the love and support of my family, specifically my siblings, Prem and Padmini, after which the company was named. The word “Premini” also happens to translate to “A Little Love”, which is the foundation of each of my businesses.

Although the booming success of Premini has certainly filled my schedule, the thirst to create has continued. In the last year, I have personally seen to the development of three new companies; Green Klub, JALI, and of course, EPK. Each company brings something new to the world that I can guarantee you won’t find anywhere else… but what I love about them the most is that I created them with the members of The Premini Team. I like to say I have a “baby”, (aka, a company) with each member of my team, because nothing brings me more joy than watching those I love take ownership of their strengths and lean into their light.

When I’m not busy making magic in the event planning industry, I am also working on the growth of my own personal development. These days you can find me writing a book about my life, spending quality time and traveling the world with my fiancé, Angelo, and planning our own wedding. You heard that right — the wedding planner is getting married!! As I’ve spent these last few months diving into my memories to retrieve content for my book, and reminiscing as I plan my wedding to the love of my life, I find myself filled with a new energy.

More so now than ever before, I am reminded of how important community is for sparking creativity and motivation. Sometimes all it takes is having someone in your corner to provide a little guidance. If that’s something you’re missing in life, then let that someone be me! It’s my turn to lean into my own light, and to share my knowledge and experiences with others who might be struggling to find that same motivation. And to think…

ALL IT TOOK WAS “A LITTLE LOVE”.
